Desktop Calendar

Here is a fun idea for making a desktop calendar for the kitchen or office.
I don't have much wall space in my kitchen. So this was a great way to get a calendar in my kitchen
where I need it most. It's a great calendar for monthly menus too!

It is very easy to reorder calendar refills. There is an order form at the back of each calendar year.
Or just click on the Calendar link in the right hand column of my blog.

To order a 2016 or 2017 Calendar Refill for $10.50 + shipping click on the link below...

Items needed: 9.25" x 11.25" MDF scrap wood
(Lowes and Home Depot will cut this wood for you if you buy it at their store)
1 Small bolt or screw, 1 metal flower of decorative hook
1 Calendar 7"x 9"
Small Eisel

Paint all 4 edges of wood.

Cut scrapbook paper to fit on 4 edges plus the front.

Spray mount 4 edges onto wood first. Be sure to spray both the wood and the paper for a
permanent bond. Spray the top last. Be sure to cover your edges while you spray.

Optional: For the perfectionists...Paint back of board black

Rub corners with a foam brush to darken them. You could also use a black ink pad.

Measure and drill a hole large enough for your bolt/screw.
Be sure to use the actual calendar for your measuring.

Beginning with the 4 edges, roll or brush on Mod Podge to add a protective seal to the paper.

I like to us a roller for a nice canvas looking texture. Roll on quickly.
Wait for it to dry completely between coats.

There you have it! Organized and uncluttered!

Magic Spells

Ok... so I'm on some kind of spell kick. This is made out of an old text book.
I designed the 2 pages in front in photoshop. They are just glued
right into the book. The rest of the book is glued shut.
The pages are water damaged and inked or glazed dark. The book is
meant to be displayed open. This goes nicely with my other book of spells project.
This is a fast and fun halloween project. I hope you enjoy!

You can design your own pages for this project or use mine!
